How To Track Your Metro PCS Phone Calls Online
Metro PCS is the prepaid cellphone arm of T-Mobile. Prepaid cellphone accounts make it easier for people to have a cellphone who might not otherwise qualify for the credit requirements of traditional cellphone programs. Every Metro PCS account has the capability to track phone calls and view call history. To track a Metro PCS phone call using online services, you need to have a either the basic or upgrade account on Metro PCS's website.
Basic and Upgraded Accounts
The difference between a basic and upgraded account is primarily the unlimited data usage offered in the upgrade plan. Upgrade plans also offer a more comprehensive payment history of the previous three months and personal account information data. Regardless of which account you have, the actual call history is recorded for you to review for a designated period of time.
Register for an Account
If you haven't already registered for Metro PCS online account management, do so. Enter your phone number with a username and password. Update any contact information in the account, making it easier for your phone to get returned if you lose it. Once you are registered, log in to review your account history, including payments and call history.
If you have more than one Metro PCS phone, you can list them all under the same online account for easier management. Your account might be limited to the subscription you have. For example, if you have a weekly subscription, you can only see details from this period, unless you have the upgraded membership with the three-month payment history.
Track the Calls
Once logged in, choose the phone line you want to track calls on. This is accomplished in the drop-down menu called "Metro PCS Phone Number." At the top of the page is an "Account Usage & Activity" drop-down tab. Select "Call Details" to see a list of the accounts. Review the calls made and received.
To see the details of any one particular call, select the number for details under "Financial Transactions and Usage." You will see the total call time and the cost of the call. This data helps you manage your prepaid, by-the-minute subscription more efficiently, identifying where you might be spending extra money.
For example, if you set up a Metro PCS phone for your daughter, you can see if she is using the phone for more than keeping in touch with you as she commutes between school and home. If her calls are longer and to other numbers, you can potentially block a number from her phone to prevent unwanted charges.
